Residents and visitors to Googong are taking their Christmas portraits on the display village’s “gargantuan” chair.

Measuring 2.6m high, 1.9m wide and 1.7m deep, the chair has been decorated for the festive season with families flocking to take festive photographs.

Overlooking the display village and the Molonglo Ranges on Courtney Street, the chair is a permanent addition to the township, handcrafted by local furniture designer Myles Gostelow from recycled materials from the original Tharwa Bridge.
