Focus on worker safety

The ACT Government has urged the construction industry to place a greater focus on work health and safety, at a WorkSafe ACT safety information seminar held on Friday 13 March.

“Everyone in the ACT construction sector has a role to play in keeping workers safe,” said Education and Workplace Safety Minister, Suzanne Orr.

“Any avoidable worksite incident is unacceptable and we need everyone to work together to improve work health and safety on every construction site across the Territory.”

WorkSafe continues its crackdown on the sector, after two deaths on ACT worksites in as many months, and more than 70 residential construction sites shut down over a six-week enforcement blitz.
